In the surface transportation market, Chestnut Ridge Foam has recently unveiled two exciting new products: CR SAFGUARD XL and PREVENT vandal resistant cushioning composite.

CR SAFGUARD XL was designed to endure the high level of abuse experienced by seat bottom cushions, and is ideal for use in new vehicles (bus and rail), retrofit cushion projects and aftermarket maintenance repairs. This product fully complies with both Federal Railway Administration and Federal Transportation Administration guidelines.

Improvements exhibited by CR SAFGUARD XL include: increased durability, improved resiliency, greater comfort and support characteristics, and enhanced aging properties.

PREVENT vandal resistant cushioning composite utilizes CR LS-200(c) low smoke, fire-resistant cushioning bonded to a vandal resistant barrier fabric. As with CR SAFGUARD XL, all components used in the manufacture of PREVENT easily comply with all Federal Railway Administration and Federal Transportation Administration flammability regulations.

Unlike traditionally hard vandal-resistant seating, PREVENT provides a comfortable cushioning in combination with vandal-resistant performance. PREVENT easily provides cost and maintenance benefits over the life of a transit seat in comparison to conventional, thinly padded, non-vandal resistant seats.

PREVENT is available with a water repellent vinyl coating, which ensures the cushioning composite remains "dry" if exposed to passenger spills or other liquids used in a maintenance cleaning operation.

Complete performance criteria is readily available on CR SAFGUARD XL, PREVENT, and the traditional CR SAFGUARD fire-resistant cushioning line (depending upon your individual project) for inclusion into the seat cushioning section of bid specifications.
