Chestnut Ridge Foam, Inc. manufactures fire-resistant sheet stock cushioning and cut-to-shape cushions for the aviation industry. AIRFLEX, our latest generation of cushioning, is light in weight, durable, and comes in a variety of firmnesses to optimize comfort. When AIRFLEX is used in assembly with a properly treated F.R. upholstery fabric, costly fire blocking fabric is not needed. We also manufacture AIRFLEX with a scrim backing which works well for stitching into upholstery covers.

We are experienced in assisting owner/operators, repair stations, and OEM manufacturers with seat cushioning needs and have produced many cushion designs including passenger, flight attendant, pilot/co-pilot, observer, and crew mattresses. Our design and sample department is very knowledgeable in cushion blueprints, duplication of cushions and manufacturing prototype cushions.

Our laboratory is capable of fire testing to 14CFR 25.853(a) Vertical Burn, 14CFR 25.853(c) Oil Burner, flotation certification TSO-C72c, and we have the ability to provide approved test plans. We have a FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and two Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representatives (DMIRs) in house.
